There were a number of files that needed to be manually copied (from my local gentoo), all in dev-lang/ruby/files/&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The machine where that Funtoo was installed was in the early days of Funtoo, about 3-4 month back. I tried on my local Funtoo machine as well and there Ruby 1.9.1 installed flawlessly.
